Shocked by this revelation, Mike embarked on a mission.
He conducted a thorough analysis of statements from ten various brokerage firms, revealing a troubling reality: these firms were consistently concealing vital information regarding performance and fees from their clients.
This discovery ignited a fire in Mike. He saw an opportunity to revolutionize the financial industry by bringing much-needed transparency to investors. In 1994, GreenTrak was born – a company dedicated to providing clear, comprehensive financial information to investors.
GreenTrak's innovative approach quickly gained traction. By 1998, the company had grown significantly and merged with a private entity, reaching a valuation of $500 million. This success, however, was tempered by the looming Y2K concerns, which put their plans for going public on hold.
In a twist of fate, GreenTrak was sold to a public company for $82 million in 2002.
What should have been a moment of triumph turned bitter when venture capital firms and Mike's former business partner maneuvered to claim the lion's share of the proceeds, leaving Mike and his family and friend investors shortchanged.
